Robert Rippy knife ID

Les, I see you have a Robert Rippy knife for sale on your site. There is some debate on BF about a mis-identified Chris Reeve knife on Ebay.ebayitem(clickhere) The seller now feels it may be a Robert Rippy knife that was put in the wrong box. Do you have a close-up of the R inside a circle mark of Rippy's to compare to the mark on the Ebay knife? Pic below. Thanks for any help

Hi Hammerdown,

First let me say that I do not have a Rippy on my site for sale, nor have I ever had a Rippy for sale. I always felt his knives were overpriced, overweight and lacked the ergonomics of the knives at the time. Specifically Walter Brend.

That being said, the guy on Ebay (as it is with a lot of newbies selling knives they don't know anything about or know what they are worth). Has in fact listed a Rippy Knife (yes that is the Rippy logo) as something that it is not.

You are doing potenital buyers a great service by pointing this out.

If you would like the Rippy Logo on one of his knives please visit Dave Starks web site at Steel Addicition. He has a great shot of Rippy's logo on the sheath. It is identical to the knife's logo in the Ebay ad.

Thanks for the fast reply Les. Well, you better take this listing down then before someone tries to order it.

Hi Hammerdown,

Forgot I had that one. That was a consignment knife I put up for a very good friend about 8 years ago. That is not currently on my site, I don't have the knife, it is not for sale. It is on what I call my "Dummy" pages. I keep a few of these around to build new pages with.

It is always best to go through the front door on the site instead of the back door (search engines).

Thanks again for the quick answer. I had thought for a minute I had got the wrong Robertson. Nice to have those old pages still up when doing research. Where is the blade show report? Anyone have any money to spend?

Hey Hammer,

You trying to say I am slow in responding?

I think you'll have to wait a week for the Blade Show report, it's not till next weekend.
