Kevin,

In my case you are slightly missing the point. I fully understand the principle of calculating (I have my own company in consultancy). My point was that there are so many respectable en respected makers that as a buyer you are looking for the best knife for your money. My budget for that show was 3 - 4000 euro and I was eager to buy, I didn't for the aforementioned reasons. In the meanwhile I commissioned two makers (Rodrigo Sfreddo and David Brodziak) to make me a knife (with input on my side) and spent my money this way. But spend it I did

As a buyer, more and more I find myself looking for the best value. At one time I bought on name alone. As time went along I started to do a lot more research on makers and which ones offered the best bang for the buck. I actually credit Les with being a big part of the reason that I have become a much more educated consumer.

As far as what I purchase, bowies and fighters for the most part.
