A little Christmas day knife work.

Traded my Christmas nap in for some shop time. This is a set almost finished. 2 types of oak burl. Grey and black oak I belive. Here is the black oak. The grey oak is drying. Then I'll post it too. What do you think? I hope the inspiration for these 2 is obvious.

Nice work! If I had even mentioned going out to the shop on Christmas day, I think my wife would have shot me.

Great looking knives. Really like oak burl with tight grain. Much overlooked for handle material.
Some of the best I've ever found has come from old pallets. Already sliced for scale size applications with enough extra for fit and finish. Can often get matching slices (usually next board over). Always worth looking through the old pallet pile and usually free for the asking.
