I need some help with this Knife
I need some help identifing this knife as well as when it was made. I can just make out Western USA on the blade next to the handle and there is a number on it it's either 999 or 666. The number is on the inside of the handle next to the blade. Any help woud be great.
Thanks, Brant Knife002.jpg Knife001.jpg |

The company is Western. They were eventually bought out by Coleman, after which the quality of the knives changed, in my opinion. It's hard to tell from the low light in your pics, but the blade appears to be carbon steel, which makes it an older knife. They were usually made with stacked leather handles, but some stag type handles were made later. They were either jigged bone or, later, imitation stag plastic. The 999 or 666 is likely a model number. Probably made in the 1950's or 60's.
