Compression lock?
Has anybody build a folder using spyderco's or similar compression lock? Looks like it'd be stronger and more fail safe than a liner lock, and maybe as easy to clean.
Reason I'm asking is I've had a few issues with liner locks, including one I built a few years ago and all of the sudden the lock won't hold. Not to mention another cutting the crap out of me doing stuff with it I shouldn't have, but that's beside the point. I'm looking for something that's secure, but is rugged and simple as the liner lock. I don't do a lot of folders, but the ones I do I want them to stay locked. I've thought about lock backs, but haven't moved in that direction yet. I've also thought about adding a thin metal "safety" slide to the liner lock. |
