A flying knife

This was an unusual one for me incorporating wings into a knife

Made for a well known maker /collector...........in the end I used magnets to attatch the wings.

Most of the time when I think of art knives visions of gold guilded, engraved and highly ornamented work come to mind. You have added new meaning to it with your work. I agree with you on the Wharncliffe design. Its one of favorites as well and it just works. I am especially fond of the Black Snake. Growing up here in North Carolina my grandfather called him "Mr. No Shoulders". Is that one spoken for?

Your work is very nice.

I don't know much about the flying part but the knife it self is sharp.I can think of a ton of uses for one.I like the lines in your knives,You are a very skilled knife maker.

Thanks gentlemen.........sorry the Black Snake is spoken for.
Most of my knives never get used but I hope they raise a few smiles

My knives are modern art knives.....or in more cases sculptures.
I agree a lot of "art knives" are heavily decorated, engraved or illustrated but just as not all art is traditional..why not have a more modern art version.
I prefer to make knives that shock or amuse. Why do something that has been done before ?

I think its time for more contemporary ideas....but still with a link to the past
and at all times well executed.
