Thanks Wayne!

This piece was quite the undertaking, in some respects.
I did this knife as a quasi/art piece. The whole thing was Elephant theme..... Schari & I did the Safari Club International Show in Reno, a couple of weeks ago. My idea was.... There have been countless high end guns done, with the Takshawna theme(engraving). I was hoping somebody with the gun engraving would like the knife to match. Since it was our first year to attend, we were placed way back in the back left corner of the HUMONGUS (1500 booth) show. Still, we did incredibly well, sold many high end pieces, and got several orders. We were recieved very well, and the contacts alone, was worth the trip. The Engravers Guild Show and the ABS Show were also in Reno the same weekend. Made it to both after we finished up on Saturday.

I really played with the etch on the blade. I was after an Elephant Skin Damascus blade (which worked well). Hard to see it by the picture, but I etched it and worked through the grits several times, to get the effect I was after. And of course elephant ivory handles, and elephant ear sheath.
What was so cool about the sheath (made by Sean Pickton of Hell Creek Saddlery), is I bought a whole elephant ear. He is making the sheaths for me, in a triple layer design, we came up with.... Smooth liner inside, elephant overlay, then the border overlay. Quite snazzy, and extremely well made. Not cheap though! HEHEHEH

Thanks for looking!
Regards, Charles

I really like this knife. The shading in the engraving (which is awesome, by the way) is a perfect compliment to the etching on the damascus blade. Some knives I see have a really light etch on the blade and really dark shading in the engraving, and it just doesn't look quite right. But this one is superb. And the lightness of the handle really sets off the engraving and damascus.

Very, very nice.

That's a beautiful knife and sheath, Charles!

What a wonderful combo. I can't understand why this didn't jump off your table, but as you say, the location put you where the money was long-since 'spent'.

Point Seven did a super job on the photo, too!

Your website is good. No pricing on available knives? You might rethink that. Thanks for the link.
