"Randell" 2-7

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

This mid 50's knife was listed as a "Randell", so many Randall collectors might not have seen it. I'm posting it because I'd like you to see that both leather and even spacer material are prone to deterioration if some reasonable degree of care is not taken. The knife has not been subjected to hard use as you can tell from the blade and sheath, but prolongeed exposure to the elements have split and cracked the leather and fiber. I knew Grady could replace the leather washers and clean up the aluminum corrosion on the butt , but I wasn't sure about the spacers so I gave him a call. He said he has been looking for the thicker spacer material for almost 20 years without success. I ended up passing on it.

Best,

Ron
