New member

Hi folks, I am a new member from Texas. I was a member of the old Primal Fires and I am now a member of the New Primal Fires. I have been lurking here for the last couple of days and y'all seem like pretty good folks here so I decided to join your group too. I have just begun my quest on making knives and I am right in the middle of making one now with a lot of help from a Louisana knifemaker and friend. He has been instrumental in getting me off my can and out into shop to start forging. A new friend and fellow knife maker from Waco was kind enough to give me some 1095 and other materials to begin my quest. I had previously been hammering on old RR spikes. I have really learned a lot in the last few days. I have been having so much fun with this and I am exited about finishing so I can do more. I am working on a half-tang for my first knife. I also started two other knives in between the internet tutorial. I decided that for my first blade that I would try to use only forge, files and sandpaper. After that, who knows where it will lead. I hope you will welcome me into your forum.

Welcome to the CKDForums!

Yeh, the info here can indeed cause significant loss of sleep...note the time of this post! I've been here for well over a year and I'm still reading every night...no shortage of stuff to learn.

Looking forward to seeing your work (as in don't forget to post pictures ).

You've been awake that long!?!?!?! Now that's what I call sleep deprivation.
