Thumbs up And the Winner is....

Hi all!

As the Captain is still away at his hunting camp, along with Wayne, aka Crimsontide, he sent me photos of the draw for the winner of the "Jean Bean" Fundraiser raffle.

The drawing took place at the hunting camp just after nine o'clock last evening, and the winning name was pulled out of Cap's boonie cap by fellow hunting camp member Mickey, with Cap and Wayne looking on..

There's no need for me to keep you all in suspense, but I will anyway...

The photos below illustrate that the draw was held on the up and up.

AND...

In the Captain's own words:

"The winner is: Rhett Stidham. Congratulations to Rhett. His "Stanaback Special, Limited, S/N 200, will be out in March of 2007!!!"

Way to go Rhett!!!

Thanks to all who contributed in this worthy effort!

Cheers!

David

Benefit

Thanks Captain. When I receive this knife and if the bad guy has not been caught, we will probably do this again. If he has been caught some other worthy cause will benefit.

In the mean time, I will have our "Director of Public Relations", Rick Bowles (DOPR) figure the best way to proceed.

Thank you to all that participated in this worthy cause.

Regards,

Rhett

One of the "biggies"

Rhett,
Yeah..I echo those sentiments: Congratulations from "another" one of the biggies! By the way, Rhett: When are we going to something about that? Seeing you at Tulsa and our attempt at a "hug" really took up a lot of aisle space! In many ways, I would like to be known as one the "little" Randall knife dealers! Congratulations, Rhett...and a Very Merry Christmas to you...and of course..Janie! (You definately married better than she did), The "Captain"

Just a follow up

Everyone who participated:
Just letting you know that I received a letter today from Shreveport Police Chief, Mike VanSant. It reads as follows:

Dear Captain Stanaback,

I want to thank you and the friends of Tom Welch for your generous donation to the John Bean Reward Fund. Your support will be remembered for a long time to come.
Thanks again for your kindness.

Sincerely,

Mike VanSant
Interim Chief of Police

I'm so sorry tom, I have no idea how anyone can live after killing someone. Hopefully, the killer cant sleep with what hes done.

hank you to all who donated to this cause.

I visited with Janet Bean, John's widow, Thursday about progress on this case.
The Shreveport Police Department and Chief Mike Vansant now think that the crime was commited by a transient. The reward fund fund, thanks to your help, is at $21,000.
That should have produced results. Thing is with that kind of cash eventually the killer will be ratted out.

Sorry the news is not better but if you helped with this fund you can know that you helped do something, as opposed to doing nothing!
