New persian/hunter pics

My other pics were not that great. Neither are these but oh well. I just don't seem to have the time to take some good photos. 1080 steel, 3/16 thick, about 5.5" blade. Differentially heat treated using salt pot for the heat and vet grade mineral oil to quench x 3. Stabilized lace sheoak handles with SS hardware. No sheath yet.

This one will be hard to let go! I really like how it feels in hand. Dan

I've got a couple of pieces of that sheoak. You make it look good. Nice work on the whole thing.

Nice knife Dan. That wood is incredible!!!
Kinda looks like little flames throughout the wood.

What finish did you use, or is it just sanded and buffed?

Joe

I like that one a lot Dan--I always like the profiles on your blades.

I also have some lacewood, but need to have it stabilized. I've never been a fan of the stuff, but as he said, you make it look great!

finish

I sanded to 600 then put on multiple coats of teak oil, then ren wax. For lace sheoak your best bet is to buy from ebay where you can find good figure. It stabilizes well. It is hard to find good ones already stabilized, they get snatched up fast! Dan
