"Tactical" Rats
It appears, for those who are interested, that the first entry in the Tactical Rat line has been put on the Swamp's shopping cart. Camp Tramp Tactical, in black only (for now), for around $180.00

It appears that the names are changing on the new Rats.... They will not, now, be the "Tactical" version of the old names.

Ok... The aforenamed "Camp Tramp Tactical" is to henceforth be the "RATWEILER".

Les --
For those if us who've followed the Rat-Line closely since the beginning, the new names probably won't make a big difference, but for those buyers who are new to SRKW the name changes will make sense. Is it a marketing move? Sure, but reading Jennifer's explanation over on RatChat shows me that they think it's necessary to avoid confusion for their newer customers. From the very beginning Swamp Rat said that they would provide no-nonsense knives for outdoorsmen, LEO, and the military. Those are pretty broad categories to be served by a limited choices of knife styles. Any move by the makers to provide a better choice for their customers is one I applaud. And according to Jennifer, the new line has stirred a great deal of interest. Now if I can only keep the names straight in my muddled brain bucket Mike __________________ Trying to become the kind of man my dog thinks I am http://www.fototime.com/ftweb/bin/ft...E4E363B}&tio=0 |

Agreed... I'm just not sure which is simpler (to be interchangeable with "better"), creating new names or adding suffixes to old names to differentiate variations of similar knives. Doesn't much matter to me, I just thought it ironic that one would think that simplifying/unconfusing would include making additions.... particularly for those of you with "muddled brain buckets".
The result is the same however, a name is just a name and I'm sure the product will be of the same high caliber that we have seen in the past from the Swamp. __________________ Les Leslie The SpearHead Group |
