FLX25 with Clip

I recently purchased the FLX25 kit from Knife Kits. This is my first knife build.

First off let me just say that, that website is very lacking and could use a lot of work. I find it confusing on what I can buy and avaiable for the specific knives. Their directions are poor and lacking too.

So since I bought the kit and saw the clips were associated with it, I bought one of those as well. However, there was no mention of any specialty tools or how to install the clip. I did not find any directions on how to do this.

So my question is how do I install the clip on the knife. It looks like I will need to drip and tap 3 holes. And is there an optimal location for the clip?

Most right handed people mount a clip on the right side of the handle. Whether you mount it with the blade tip up or down is up to you, but having a knife blade accidentally open up while it's in your pocket with the blade tip up can do a little damage in ways you might not appreciate.

Hi H3nd0,

Welcome to the forum. I moved the thread to the kit forum to help others as well.

The FLX25 doesn't come with a stock clip. You have to add one on it if you want it. The type of clips that we show on the option page are those that customers commonly use on that model. In order to install a clip, you'll need to drill and tap your own mounting holes.

Thank you for the comment on how you needed more information with that model. We'll see if we can't get that corrected in the next update. We have a builder's FAQ and how-to area that includes universal framelock kit instructions here ( http://www.knifekits.com/helpdesk/kn...hp?article=112 ), but I just noted that it's not linked to that model. Thank you again for pointing that out.

If you have any other questions, please send it here (http://www.knifekits.com/helpdesk/index.php?a=add) and that'll create a ticket so that the right person can help you.

Thanks again.

Alex
