GPC-1000 Clip ?

I need to install a pocket clip on the GPC, I have two questions.

1. With the knife lying on its' spine (blade side up), on which side, normally, does the clip go, right or left?

2. Can I use the existing screw hole in the bolster for one of the clip screws and then drill and tap for the other two screws?

Hi slickboy,

There are four ways a clip can be attached. One either side, and either with a tip up or tip down carry.

Traditionally for a right-handed user fastening it to the LH side with the clip end pointing at the blade tip is for right-hand tip-down carry (Considered the safest. This also assumes your view laying on the spine has the blade tip closest to you.)

Sure, using one of the bolster holes would be smart. You will need to use a longer screw that extends into the liner. Ideally, the other two screws would also extend into the liner, too, but that is hardened steel. Pretty tough to drill and tap. The bolster, however is easy.

I say go for it.

Lastly, shape the back of the clip with a little concave bevel to match the radius of the bolster better.
