2.5 with button release

,I am looking for a folder kit for a 2.5" blade button release. I have made several ddr3-bl but they are large to carry all the time. I would like to make a smaller bl.

I'm with you Frank. It was January 10, 2005 when Alex first posted that KnifeKits was coming out with the DDR2.5-BL. I know they were having an issue with it, Darrel posted that they were still working on the prototype on Oct. 01, 2007.

I'm sure they have all been busy with the Blade show recently. Time for an update though. And please don't tell us it's not coming our way.......

I was in a store that carried William Henry knives. Most of them were button released knives and they had several models that were 2.5". I know they are high end knives but I don't see were it is such a problem to develop a ddr2.5-bl. The first company that comes out with a good quailty, nice looking 2.5" button release with an automatiac option, will get A LOT of my business. I could sell that kind of knife, auto or not, all day long and for about or the same price as the current ddr3-bl. Frank

2.5

Guy?s these things take time.

We have patents and red tape to work through as well. Just a little while longer.

Patience.

Jonathan -

Thanks for the update. I think our frustration come from no updates and that we've got to asking for updates. Communication, good news or bad news is always better than no communication.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but I'm sitting in front of my computer waiting on my DDR3-BL kit to arrive in the mail (along with the spring and 3/64" drill bit ).

I believe what Jonathan was referring to back in '08 has finally hit production. Super Squirt 2.0 looks like it's a mini version of the DDR3-BL. I'm curious if it accepts the same 3/8" diameter coil spring?
(My apologies it's not o.k. to link images)

Hey Rich, I'm liking the looks of this "Squirt". You may be correct, this may be the long awaited 2.5 button lock. Automatics under 2" are legal here in Kalifornia so I'd also be interested in knowing whether these can be converted. I'd probably have to regrind the blade down to 1.9" just to be safe... give Johnathan or Alex a call and ask if they milled out the back of the bolster to accept the spring. Mike

Well, I hope it can be converted because I noticed that the hole for the thumbstud is conspicuously absent, and I don't intend to cut a nail nick for the [apparently] requisite two handed operation of this little devil.....

if and when you all get the automatic scenario figured out, i'd much appreciate a tutorial on this kit. a little automatic like this would be brilliant for work.

Don't forget to get a 3/64 carbide spade drill to drill the spring hole the rest of the way through the blade. After assembly and adjustment it works very well.

Sweet. Good to know the spring fits.
Once I finish off the handle scales for my DDR3 auto, I may put one of the Squirts together for my wife.
Please be sure to post some pics when it's all finished.

with the blade being so small, isn't the standard spring fast enough?
