Primtive fighter/camp knife
This is a knife me and my dad made while I was in on leave a couple of years ago. It has traveled on one deployment to the Gulf Of Aden. It was forged from a piece of 57 Ford leaf spring, hardened, tempered and sharpened at our home shop. My dad has been doing rough blacksmith work since the 70's, and focuses more on functional than looks. Bladesmithing is not his main concern, but its definitely what I am most interested in. Anyways, here it is

Spots, You're lucky to have a Dad to work with on projects like this. Their support and help is invaluable. I'd say you have a good start here with some nice flow to the shape. Keep hanging around the outpost and other forums, ask a lot of questions and do a little forging every chance you get and you will grow in your skills as a knifemaker. P.S. don't underate looks also, as there are a lot of functional aspects tied into much of the looks. For a knife carried while on deployment you might want to go with a stiffer top grained bark tanned leather that will let you draw your knife easier than the soft split cowhide sheath you have their.
