Angry Copyright Violation!!!!!

We found this guy on e-bay who is selling this balisong wich is, acctualy a shameless copy of the Guardian Angel model by brazilian knifemaker Fl?vio Ikoma.

http://cgi.ebay.com/CURVED-HANDLE-Bu...ayphotohosting

I never had dealings with e-bay, so I don?t know what can be done about this, if there?s anything to be done. Could you help please?

This is the original by Mr. Ikoma:

Thank you very much!

Thats a tough one....the knock-off is similar, but theres only so much uniqueness one can attribute to finger grooves, three drilled holes and a blade shape. I can honestly see how two separate people could arrive at the same drill pattern. There are a huge number of things that set theo two apart. Differet blade grind, different handle finish, different colors, different screw pattern near the butt...itd be real tough to do anything but possibly have ebay remove the ad. Otherwise, all the "loveless" hunters on ebay would also be yanked.

Yeah, I know.. but the Loveless models are more like tributes knifemakers do. This is a industrial copy of a custom design, probably made in China or somewhere around. I know thare is little or nothing to be done, but it doesn?t hurt to ask Thanks anyway.

One of my seaxes gets a ton of hits from some indecipherable URL in China.

I'm just waiting...

Someone was paying attention to the Ikoma's work...!

No question it is a total ripoff design. The seller is simply marketing something produced elsewhere.

I don't think there is a darn thing you can do other than let the boys know how flattered they should be by the clone.

I gotta say, it will probably sell well. It's a KILLER design! Sorry...
