Excellent Tool for Making Folders
Fellow Knifemakers,
Take a gander at this tool. I have one of these and I can attest that they are quite nice for cutting liner locks and nail nicks. Check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=57036 |

Horizontal mills are, indeed, great for making liner locks and if you can get one for a price anywhere near that current eBay price it would be a real steal.
As far as making liner locks is concerned though, a vertical mill will also make nail nicks and slot liners just as easily as a horizontal mill. So, if you don't get the horizontal mill, or if you're in the wrong part of the world, all is not lost. When you are ready for a mill, you can get a vertical mill at a reasonable price anywhere in the world ....... |

If you have both tools then there is no reason not to use them - I would.
My liners are slotted on the vertical mill using a .020 jewelers saw on a half inch arbor ..... |
