I've never heard the word "solutionize" 'to put into solution' is what I've aways heard and used.
I wouldn't refer to martensite as diffusion prevention !
I think the nature and location of nucleation sites is already established.
Sorry for being picky but I'm a metallurgist !
There are many martensite reactions - top of the line fencing swords use the Maraging alloys. SMAs [shape memory alloys] are an interesting case.
We're still learning about steels an now that we can get 1 million magnification there are lots of surprizes !! We can find retained austenite in low carbon steel and in bainitic structures.
