Hey guys,
just a quick idea, if you do have trouble threading screws in after grinding them to lenth, you can thread a nut onto it before you do the grinding, then whe you remove the nut it should straiten and clean the threads, Later, Gary |

Shortening small screws can be a pain, indeed. I took a 3"x3" piece of flat mild steel and drilled and tapped all the sizes of screws that I use. Then just thread the screw through the plate and grind off the proper amount on your flat platen. When you back off the screw after grinding, the tapped hole "chases" the threads and removes any burrs left from the grinding.
