Where Do You Guys Put Your Maker's Stamp?

Hello all, I was just curious where the majority of you sheath makers put your maker's stamp and the reasoning behind it. I've seen them on the front as well as the back. Do you want it to be easily seen or inconspicuous?

Thanks,
Richard

Most I have seen are on the back. I personally like to put mine on the belt loop. Not so much to be purposely inconspicuous but not wanting to interfere with the embellishments. Dave

I always put mine on the back as near center of the sheath as other factors will allow. I always, always, always cock it to the left on purpose. If my mark ain't crooked I didn't make it.

Paul

Most of us, that have been making sheaths for a long time, seem to develop a recognizable style. I find it rather flattering when I see a new maker producing sheaths that look similiar (or better) than mine. Some of them I might have taught the basics and others might have liked the style. I cannot say that I developed any particular features, probably did not---but I might have brought a bunch of them together in a manner that pleased me! My logo is a simple ---- bar MM bar (--- MM ---) and I stamp it on the back of my sheaths wherever the mood strikes me! lol Sandy

P.S. The MM stands for Martin Morrissey---That is as far as my imagination would stretch.
I once had a Canadian maker (now deceased) who told his customers that it stood for Mountain Man---and I do live in the mountains!!!!

At a guess that would be knifemaker Walter Stockdale. He was a true gent.
