Bear Claw Trapper - 1st Slip joint Kit

My first slip joint Kit knife- Bear Claw
Overall happy.. Sheild was from USAknife supply with template....minor difficulties but next will be easier I hope.

The handle work looks great! What did you do to the blade to get that finish, reheat?

How do you form the dome on the larger pin bottom center of the knife? What keeps that pin from walking out if you don't have a head of some sort on it?

Tap them to swell them inside the material. That process also anchors them, and helps to hold the material down. You can then use a head-spinner to smooth off the leading edge of the pin.

I used Ferric acid to etch the blade finish.. nail polish applied with a sponge to give the contrast and then etch twice.
