Bay Area Knife Collectors Association Show

I just got home last night from the BAKCA show. This was my first time to attend this show, and
have to thank all the club members for the invitation and the great friendship and hospitality they showed me during the weekend.

Texas was well represented; Bill Ruple, Larry Chew, Allen Elishewitz, Bailey Bradshaw and myself. As someone at the show mentioned, "you can just look around the room and sure tell all the Texans, you just tell them much". From the activity in the room, it looked like most of the guys were having a good show. I had a great time, finally putting faces with a lot of names, that I've known for years. I would recommend adding this show to your schedule if your considering going out of state.

I flew out and rode back with Bill Ruple. Since I had never driven before, we did the tourist thing
and took a lot of sight seeing side trips. Stopped back through Lakeside, AZ and spent one day & night with Ken McFall at K&G. We spent the day with Ken forging mosaic damascus, and then he turned us loose in K&G to spend all the $ we made at BAKCA. A knifemakers dream!!!

Thanks to Randy, Jeff, Chuck, Conrad, and all the guys that busted their rears puuting this show
together, they outdid themselves. I'm hoping to be invited back again next year, and am already
looking forward to it.
