Your customer should be very pleased with either of those! Might be a little more pleased if they had your name on them though. And we believe you made sheaths for them, really we do ....

Very nice Rob! I'm with Ray though, there seems to be a couple things missing.

Thanks fellas , yes the sheaths are side-carry and are drying as we speak.....as for the makers mark , haven't been marking them of late , well for quite a while now , thinking of changing it up or just doing away with it , I do however stamp the leather......

Nice knives, who made them?
I always figured that if I was willing to sell them I should be willing to put my name on them. Just my thoughts. Steve __________________ Stephen Vanderkolff Please come on over and check out my website. http://www.vanderkolffknives.com/ Thanks |

stamps, makers mark, logo bling isn't for everyone Stephen.....as my post above mentions I used to and still stamp the leather, I just haven't now for quite sometime.......just by choice that's all, nothing more, maybe the next one.....some makers (and great ones at that) simply sign the sheath with a pen, some send a letter of authenticity for validation, nice that we have choices and can be different.....
Merry Christmas Stephen and thank you for the compliment I appreciate it ............ __________________ R.Watson B.C. Canada |

Nice Rob
Used to get a rash from several other members of The Knifemakers' Guild about not putting my full name and location on my blades. I always responded with "You stop putting your knives in fido's butt and I might just consider it." Just not my thing. I hot stamp my mark during the forging process and that's enough for me. We all got our own drummer. Have had an awful lot of strangers find me with just that mark and not hurting for work. (besides they might cross reference my name with the poster in the PO) Not to take away from Stephan's comment. I've seen and handled some of his work and understand why he likes to put his name on his work....always beautiful stuff. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |
