Need my pen knife fixed. I made a poor decision...
Hello all!
I am in need of a smith that can repair folders. I stupid tried to pick a door latch with my pen knife and have popped the big blade out of the hinge and possibly bent the handle. I've attached pictures to this post. If anyone out there can help, I'm happy to pay for the repair and possibly to have a new long blade installed. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer! - jordan |

Case used to do these kind of repairs on the cheap but not sure they do it anymore. Might check with local Case dealer.
Some of the members here do folders and might fix it for you, have to be patient. Might want to learn how to crop and resize your pics so they can be more easily viewed on the forum. Lot of folks won't bother with all the shifting & scrolling necessary to view your pics. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |

Do you have a vise or a really good clamp? You have to squeeze the end back together, then peen the pin with a small punch. (Essentially, you hit the center of the pin and make it "mushroom" so that it once again holds the end together.)

damage on that goes beyond just replacing the pin.
the tang of the blade is extremely worn. till need to be rebuilt, or the whole blade replaced. |
