Walrus and Damascus

This knife is Devin Thomas "Raindrop" pattern stainless Damascus. The scales are beautiful fossil walrus ivory, with 14K gold pins, and more gold pins in the blade. I was pleased with the overall combination of materials.

Don, those gold pins are nice in that raindrop.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of them somewhat randomly dispersed. It could be really interesting to play them off the raindrop centers.

That is a very cool knife! If you ever want to have one engraved let me know. I would enjoy working on such a nice knife.

I have to believe that this knife feels as good to hold as it looks. I was really impressed by your work at Blade, and this is no exception. That ivory (to me) just begs for some scrimshaw, but then there's the part of me that says, "Don't you dare do anything else to this knife!!!"

I think I'll listen to that other voice. Don't do a thing. It's perfect.

Coop, I make my own sheaths. The one for this knife is similar to the one shown in the "Carry System" section of my web site ( http://cowlesknives.com/DC_Mainframe.htm), but in natural cowhide lined with goatskin. Sheaths have a William Henry pocket clip, and the blade is retained by a rare earth magnet.

Nice work Don. When I first saw it, I thought it was a folder.
