Push daggers

I know that each state is different and has it's own laws. However I am wondering if Push Daggers are illegal because of there configuration. And dose a double edge knife become legal if you make one of the edges a faults edge. An Inquiring mind wants to know.

gib -
the bit of reading i have done suggests that 'it depends'.
i know that isn't very definative, but most of the interpretation of law is a matter of opinion and rather gray at that. for instance, you can carry most any bladed weapon (up to 6") in oregon so long as it is not concealed. in most places i've heard of a false edge would be considered a single edged knife. but i know of instances where canadian customs has considered this a dagger.
bernie levine's site has capsule views of state knife laws as of 1996.

Gib,

I am not a legal authority but I think you will find that most restrictive legislation is geared toward "spring assisted" blades. Part of the problem with keeping up with restrictions though is that they are so different state-to-state. I am planning on opening a store here in Mo. this spring and to be sure about handling autos I have asked the local circuit judge to give me an interpretation. I figure that if he gives me an OK then no one else will bother me.
