tube furnaces
Anyone here familiar with industrial electric tube furnaces (about 18"dia x 48")? I have a couple that I know nothing about. One is set aside for Geno, the other I'm not sure what I will do with. I used to have six of them. Two were not worth repairing due to damaged elements/refractory and two my wonderous brother-in-law destroyed. Originally I was told one version was 1500* and the others were 1000* furnaces. I don't remember which was which. Supposedly the six of them were worth about $30k new and had only been used for a month before they were removed from a lab. I got them for free, but they had been stored in "less than ideal" conditions. I took a bunch of pics of the ones I have. No control units, just the actual tube furnace section with the leads/connectors. Anyone here think they might be able to ID one of these? Anyone else fairly local want the other one? I hate to see something go to waste but they take up too much room in my shop.

I AM VERY VERY INTERESTED!!!!! And I am close by, I will shoot you an e-mail.
I work with and on a couple of these at work, setting up the controls may not be cheap if you try to get fancy. Gary __________________ Gary Hamilton Last edited by Gary Hamilton; 07-09-2004 at 05:37 PM. |
