Bowie Knife Identification

I have a Bowie Knife that my father purchased in Germany in the late 1950's - 1960's that I need some help with to identify and possible learn of it's value.

The knife appears to have a stag handle that is attached by what looks like nails or some type of pins. The knife is 15.5" in length and 2" at the widest point of the blade. The sheath is leather with a raised image of a deer.

The blade itself is stamped: Original Bowie Knife
and at the base of the blade at the guard, it is stamped: W. WILLMS Solingen

Does anyone know anything about this knife and what the value of it might be?

Regards,
Rob

Thanks for all your help. Guess I expected too much for at least one response but no matter.

I thought I replied to this post. I must have forgot to hit the post button. Sorry about that.

I cannot find a german cutlery company by that name. Usually they were made to order for retail companies in the U.S. and marked with the retailers name. The Solengen mark means that it was intended for import to the U.S. as that was the law. Did Dad maybe pick it up in the PX? A search on ebay will show that they go for an average of 20 to 50 bucks.
