Stinger FrameLock,
This is the first kit knife I've put together in quite awhile. I ordered this Stinger, a SuperSquirt, and a couple of paring knife blades from CCK recently. Figured I'd start with the easy one... the Stinger with G-10 scales.
I really like this kit. It went together in less than an hour. The only adjustment I had to make was to remove a burr on the flat of the blade where it meets the frame lock. I polished the contact surfaces with my dremel but don't even think that was necessary as the blade and frame were already quite polished. The G-10 scales are a near perfect match to the frame, no adjustment or sanding necessary here. I'm going to touch up the edge and carry this for the next week or so. I'm curious to see how the 440A (RC 54-56) holds an edge. I used the nylon washers that came with the kit. Fun kit... I look forward to doing some more of these. Thanks for looking, Mike Parts Laid Out: Ready for Assembly: Finished Knife: Thick Frame and Nice Lockup: Blade not quite centered, no rub though... In the pocket. Next Up.... |
