Gosh Darn Knife Shows....
My wife and I attended the Wolverine Knife Collector's Club Show in Novi, MI last weekend. Didn't' sell any knives - the economy in Michigan must not have heard about how great the US Economy is...or is it a true reflection of the truth?
I was lucky however to buy Philip Booth's first "Italian" Pick Lock, made with nice gnarly stag scales - and a very strong spring - I'd say bear trap snap but that's so cliche! I also visited the table of Bobby Toole of Mississippi - the master of remaking the old school pocket knife designs. He had a Bare Head Jack (aka English Jack) with desert ironwood scales that just demanded I bring it home. I also bought a nice "attention getter" from Micky Yurco, a man of many talents... Here are some photos for your enjoyment: |
