GX6 Dagger Kit Customized with rear bolsters
Here is a Gx6 kit from knifekits that I did the following modifications to:
Figured Sapele scales Chris Marks Damascus "Weave" pattern bolsters, both top and bottom: Heavily etched to make the pattern appear very deep. Fileworked fully along spine. Blade hand polished to near mirror. Here are some pics: |

Looks comfy! I see you spent a lot of time on this, and it looks great. Rare are double bolsters on this. I like it.
Who's it for? Coop |

This comment probably screams of 'newbie' but what the heck. I would assume the most common use for double bolsters would be to best protect a more valuable inset handle material from wear? (aside from the obvious aethetics)
Just curious if I'm warm. Julie  __________________ Today I'm becoming who I once dreamed to be. |

No idea! haha.
It feels good in the pocket and adds a nice weight to the knife, though. Im going to get some better pictures because this one turned out really nice. Id like to know what the original purpose of rear bolsters are, though....im assuming like you said, they were meant to protect handle scales? Who knows..... Thanks for the comments! |
