I am not set on a blade steel. That is the one and only time I have considered stainless as a blade steel. I discarded the idea pretty fast tho. I do have a couple pieces of tungsten steel, but it is kicking my a$$ trying to work with it. Being a sole authorship, low tech bladesmith, I have limits.

I think I understand about working with the Tungsten. Refinishing Murphys is like wanting to be punished. That stuff is super hard!. 01 would be a good choice in my book, if you want to keep it carbon...love that steel.
