depending on how much eye appeal youre looking for..... you might just need to make your own.

Thanks Jim those would work, hoping they are at least 7/8 long, Damon I would be glad to send them to you for some eye appeal lol, the closest thing to eye appeal for me would be to scratch the surface with 60 grit.

thanks PoolQs.
mr.HC.... those parts jim posted are for holding together slab side handles. id use something a bit larger for stick tang. 1/4" or 3/8" threads. also, it doesn't take much to put a bit of file work on a bolt head. |

Thanks damon, don't think about the dia. but 1/4 would be more secure with less chance of snapping when tightening down the scale. I may have to try a little file work on those heads, you never know maybe I could come up with a cool design.

Carl, they come in different sizes, USA knife Makers sells them and Jantz has decorative Torx heads you would buy an all thread tube to screw them into. Or make your own threaded tubes. Here is a drill tap conversion table.
https://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-i...rill-size.aspx Here is a huge selection of small stainless tubing you can cut and tap yourself. Kind of expensive though, but where are you going to find 1/32 OD tubing with an .020 ID? https://microgroup.com/store/fractio...ss-tubing.html Last edited by jimmontg; 02-09-2017 at 05:03 AM. |

guess he could also make his own tubing too.
to simplify the parts.... either thread the end of the tang that sticks out the back of the handle, or weld on a piece of all thread. these are easy to find at local hardware stores. just check that they are not plated if you intend to do any file work to them. https://www.lowes.com/pd/The-Hillman...p-Nuts/4736641 something like one of these might also work... https://www.lowes.com/pd/The-Hillman...or-Nut/3013888 just spend some time browsing the fasteners and see whatll work for what your doing. |
