Wild Rose by a nose!
Actually, Chuck won by several votes, but I always wanted to say that!
Great turnout this week, guys! We had lots of awesome photos to look at. Everything being equal, I liked Chuck's layout a little more this time, personally. Other than that, it was a coin toss as to the quality of the shots. I think you guys are learning a lot by practicing up for these events. The results are showing very good progress on all accounts. I'm going to have to break out some of my backdrops and get back into the frey here as soon as I can find some time. You guys are having way too much fun! Thanks guys. Actually I was surprised but VERY pleased - lots of top notch competition this week. This was one of those serendipitous shots - the background is my chair side table which I look at all the time and for some reason it just struck me as a good background so...
The hardest part was getting rid off the bloody reflection in that mirror polished blades (sure like them forges finishes instead ) __________________ Chuck Burrows Hand Crafted Leather & Frontier Knives dba Wild Rose Trading Co Durango, CO chuck@wrtcleather.com www.wrtcleather.com The beautiful sheaths created for storing the knife elevate the knife one step higher. Great shot by Wild Rose! Only thing I can think of that might have enhanced the overall impact would be to put some whiskey in that shot glass. It would've been another reflective surface to manage but, with some light passing through the liquid it might also add a bit more warmth.

Thanks Buddy-
Only thing is I'm a teetotaller theses days so I guess I'd have to use some tea like they do in the movies (unless it was Bob Mitchum ) __________________ Chuck Burrows Hand Crafted Leather & Frontier Knives dba Wild Rose Trading Co Durango, CO chuck@wrtcleather.com www.wrtcleather.com The beautiful sheaths created for storing the knife elevate the knife one step higher. Wildroses whole composition looked complete. The table, the accessories in the shot, everything said old western!
I really liked Blackwood's photo. You could clearly see the hand-rubbed finish on the blades, and there were no "hot-spots" in shot. Plus the matching pair, and those cool handles just kicked ass! ~Mitch |

Congrats to Chuck for a winning combination! His pic captured a theme well, as it showed!
ALL of the entrants this week were working hard at their craft. The dreaded blade refraction occurred on a lot of posts, which could have made some good shots GREAT. For whatever reason, I start my eye there. A clean, well-balanced, and lit blade is evasive but worth the effort. Looking forward to the next round!!! Gentlemen, start your camera's! Coop |
