My Newest: O-1 and Ironwod Recurve Camp Knife
Here is my newest....
Specs: 12" OAL 7" Flat ground 0-1 Toolsteel Blade Full Tang 3/16" stock SS/Copper Mosaic Pins Nickel Silver Thong Hole Desert Ironwood Scales This knife is a workhorse. It began as a test piece. HT and Temper have resulted in a blade that can chop a 2x4 and then still have hair with ease. The tang is heavly skeletonized, putting the balance point about an inch forward of the plunge line. Handle is flared in the tang to assist with chopping. It is quick in the hand and should serve well as a camp knife in the near future! |

Very cool Dave! I like the choil (which I don't recall seeing on any of your other knives). I also like the slight recurve in the blade.
Normally, I like a tapered tang, but with a knife this big, it's probably better that you leave more heft in the grip to give it balance ehh? Well done brother! __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

Thanks!
The slight recurve was an after-HT change caused by a missed chop that hit a hardened steel bolt and forced me to re-profile the grind...was amazed the small damage considering the force of the blow... |
