In the plant where I work we encounter all sorts of wicked static electricity and I am a big fan of painful electrostatic discharge stories. How about separating stacked 4x8 sheets polycarbonate. Felt that one in the shoulder and elbow joints for a good half-day.

The worst was releasing liquid CO2 into the environmental chamber from a 100 pound bottle (rapid cooling tests). Anyone who has unloaded a 1/4 bottle of CO2 while holding onto the valve can tell you what that 11 inch spark sounds like when jumping from one's head to the nearby metal chamber door. If only we had a video of that!

:-)
