Intro to the Tactical Knife class - Pics

Over the weekend Phillip and I were at Montgomery Community College teaching a knifemaking class, Introduction to the Tactical Knife. It's a basic knifemaking class geared more towards a tactical knife design.

We had 8 great students that learned quite a bit about what goes into making a knife.

They made us proud by applying their new knowledge.

Here is the knife I made to demonstrate the techniques. We threw everyone's name into a box and drew one. The winner ended up getting this knife as a bonus for taking the class. FYI, this is an extremely rare Jones Brothers knife that is hollow ground. There aren't many hollow ground blades by us.

Those of you who have not taken a knifemaking class should consider doing so. The NCCKG, along with Montgomery Community College (Troy, NC) offers several excellent classes each summer.

Great looking knives. Goes to show what good instruction can do. Good looking group of knife makers the one in the back row middle looks a little intimidating LOL.
