modern skinner idea...
so guys, i was looking for some opinions on this handle design for my modern skinner. bolsters of carbon fiber, butt of Afzilia Xy-Lay, silver nickel pins (or possibly hidden pins?), S/N thong tube, black liner, possible fileworked spine.
the afzelia Xy-Lay is the same as this knife... and the carbon fiber is large weave from my neighbor http://www.x-calibergrips.com/cf_eltcf.html so, what do you think? is the arc in right direction? |

I like the idea. I think flipping the curve between the bolster and other handle material down to match the curve of the blade might look pretty good. How about black micarta pins?

I think it is an awesome idea. Might think about doing the 'hidden' pins for all but one and then doing a really big mossaic. Just my 2cents. I think your design is really nice.

Lay a thin brass/red/brass spacer between the carbon and the afzelia, that will help you with the graphite black bleed over when you do your finish maybe, and give it a more positive contrast.....that's just me
