"Auriga" - new modular kydex sheath concept

Last nights has been quite sleepless for me (I believe that's standard if you've been a father for a bit over a week) so I've had some extra time to think about couple of knife-related things. So I thought... why not a modular kydex sheath? And here we are first version of my "Aurgia" kydex system (named just for fun after lab-spaceship in Alien Resurrection movie). This one consists of sheath, TekLok, belt-loop, tie-down cord, attachment plate and 4" nylon sheath. However, I have more modules in mind... for small brunton compass, firestarter, dog-bone sharpener, Zippo lighter, etc. Also I'll try some "double duty" modules. So you can easily compose best sheath for planned activity. But that's the future. Anyway, I've started with sheaths for Project I and MK.VI, and it turned out not so bad. The outer pocket keeps easily a SAK, multitool or SureFire E2, G2 or 6P. Tell me what do you think?

Hi, Very good concept! Just like to know did you make that nylon pouch/sheath or is it off the shelf item? Best Regards, Andrew

yep Kydex does lend it self to this

I prefer a 1/8" thick drop bracket drilled to take a tek lock or leather / webbing loop for belt mount std
