"Frontier" knife and sheath

This is the second knife and sheath I've made, it's very similar to the first which I posted in the display case.

I wanted to get some experience on working on the antler handle and the sheath before I work on the project that I really want. I plan on making "frontier" hunting knives for my sons to use, as well as one for me. So, the first I was working on turned out ok and I knew a friend that was into knives and history and made it a gift to them.

But I liked it so much, I wanted one of my own, so I pretty much repeated the design to keep and decorate my office with. The one here is the second. This time I added a brass cone with part of a wild turkey beard from a bird I shot.

I also shamelessly copied some scratching in the leather from Mr. Burrows work, which in fact was a lot of the design influence. In fact, To be fair and honest, there were other influences besides Mr Burrows; MLK Knives, North River Custom, and Stuart Willis among them.

Comments and feed back welcome, I'm still learning.

I never made a frontier sheath and your job looks great if it is your second sheath. Nice job!
