Anyone from CT

Hello - I am new to the forum and knife making in general. I have been wanting to get into the craft for many years now and am going to take the plunge and get going.

Is anyone from CT or the near by area that would be interested in showing a newbie some tricks of the trade? I read the above post about visiting a local bladesmith but no one was from CT.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Welcome aboard, Jeremy! Someone from your area will probably see this before too long. If they don't, or even if they do, you can find plenty of help right here. Also, we have a Sunday night Chat Room especially for raw beginners so you should consider taking advantage of that too (see the Sticky thread at the top of the forum for details) ....

Welcome Jeremy,

I've got the bug to. I found a knife maker who I met at a custom knife show here in NY. I'm sure it wouldn't be a great distance for you to get to him. He does charge for lessons but not much considering what I've seen out there.
Let me know if you would like his details.

Jason
