Slip Joint question

Its been a little and finally getting back to knife making. Quick question on location of the pins on the lock section of the slip joint. Is there set points to put the pins or is it more per knife/size? I am thinking this needs to move to help put more or less tension, most likely wrong.

I am by far no expert, but I find midway between the pivot, and the last pin in the spring the ideal spot to hold tension and still make it easy to open. But I make small slip joints, and that works best for me. Any long time makers may want to chime in.

I always adjusted the distance for the pivot pin according to the knife size, usually about 40% of the distance to the front of the knife. The distance does have a great effect on the tension.
