Talking Let's build a Texas Toothpick slipjoint together.

I've been asked to start another folding knife project similar to the Locking Liner Barlow thread we did a few years ago. If there is enough interest, we'll build a slipjoint Texas Toothpick using the design you can buy from my website below. Click on the second link, go to "Folding Knife Designs" and then to the Toothpick design.

Ignore the price listed if you're going to participate here and just send me $3.50 via Paypal to cover the postage costs to you. Be sure to give me your mailing address.

You can click on the link below the design and it will take you to Paypal and it will send the payment to my email address. Ignore the shopping cart window, or it charge you full price.

I suggest you sign up here on this thread and we'll see if there are enough people who want to participate before ordering the design. I won't send the design free to anyone who hasn't signed up here.

So, if you want to join in, please post your interest here using your real name.

My reason for starting the Toothpick project instead of another barlow is that I've just started two new Toothpicks for an order and I could take step by step photos of my WIP and post them here with full explanations. It may be months before I could make another barlow.

Sign up here quick!! I'm already started on mine. Let's make the deadline for signup Friday, May 1.

All right, Um James. I'll just shorten that to UM.

Mike, I hope you get this one done. You shouldn't have any problems posting your WIP with Barbara there.

Hi, Victor. You're really welcome to join in here with us. I've seen your work, of course.

I think maybe I can figure out how to convert a copy to something I can email to you. Please give me your email address. I try to avoid that, since the email copy can be shared all over the world, but I certainly don't want you to pay the postage and wait for delivery to Brazil.

You're in, my gifted friend.

Well, my friends, it's only been 3 hours since I posted the invitation and we already have 3 men signed up, so it looks like this project is going to go. Let's see how many more we get tomorrow.

I forgot to mention that we really, really want you to post photos of your current WIP as you go. That is, except for our old friend Frank Niro, who is exempt from taking photos, but he's very, very helpful. I hope to see him join us again.

James
I'll show you how to do the work in small stages, then wait a few days for you to catch up. That's the plan anyway. Some people are too busy at times to follow, but the posts will remain up for a long time, well after some have finished.

It helps a lot for a learner to keep up fairly well and post his WIP so that we can all help by critiquing his work currently before we start the next step together.

I like James better than Um.
