Knife Kits SG4 Handle Thickness

Trying to find what handle thickness do I need so I can hand sand and match them to the bolsters provided in kit. My hope is somebody will know so I don't have to make to separate order's to get my supplies. I appreciate any help you can provide.... Not new to knife making but a medical event has interrupted my journey and clouded my knowledge... Thank you again....

I haven't built an SG4 but I looked it up and it looks pretty typical. Bolsters in kits like that are usually 3/16" or maybe 1/4", not likely any more than that or the knife gets ridiculously heavy. Typical handle slabs would be 3/8" and tapered down to the bolsters.
If you want the slabs to be the same thickness as the bolsters I'd buy two sets, both 3/16" and 1/4". There are plenty of modestly priced slab materials available so it doesn't have to be expensive and you'll have an extra set that you can use sooner or later . . .

Double checking

That is what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure. This will be my first knife it quite a few years (8-10 years), I still have my 2"x 72", buffer, and some supplies but I figure it is better to start small and that way I can sift thru my supply inventory and see what is still good. Thank you for your response, I see the knife making community still has great people.....
