I've got the knife bug - Thanks Steve!

Hi Guys, I thought it was about time I introduced myself. I?ve been loitering here for a while learning enough to get started in knifemaking. Until now I didn?t think I had anything worthy of posting.

Thank you so much Steve for your excellent Sub Hilt DVD, it was the inspiration for me to cobble a knife shop together over the last year or so and build my first ?proper? knife, with more to come in the future as I?m completely hooked.

I watched the DVD?s it at least 1/2 a dozen times whilst putting my shop together and then another ? dozen or so as I was putting steel to grinder. It wasn?t until I was actually grinding a blade did it seem like I was watching it for the first time again, picking up on the subtle hand nuances of grinding and assembly techniques you demonstrate so well. You?ve taken years off my learning curve and made my first attempt a keeper!

Here?s some pics of my first finished knife. It?s a Loveless inspired drop point. I thought that was a sensible place to start out and it?s something I?ll get a lot of use out of.

It's in ATS-34 with stainless fittings and black linen Micarta.

Thanks again,
Steve
