Re-heat treat?

I came across a couple of ATS-34 blades I profiled a long time ago. I took one of my little chain saw files and ran it across the edge of the spine and it caught and scraped a bit of metal off. I suspect the blades are not heat treated, but I'm not one hundred percent sure. Is there any danger of ruining the blades by putting them through the entire heat treat process again even if they have already been heat treated in the past?

If they're too soft what do you have to lose? Just make sure it is not decarb first.
