My first presentation

Hi everyone.

I have been hanging around the forum for a while and thought it was now time to register and become a member. I am a hobbyist with no immediate plans to go full time as I enjoy my dayjob as a gamekeeper in Sweden a little too much. I?d like to start by presenting a couple of knives I made in the fall. Hope you like them.

The blades are of RWL34 and Damasteel Twist respectively, handles of RWL with inlays of desert ironwood, mammoth ivory and stabilized and coloured box elder. The damasteel knife has a locking spring made of damasteel as well (for an unusual touch) while the other two has springs of titanium. The engraving is done by swedish world class engraver Stanley Stoltz.

Brian,
Welcome to the forum.
Those are beautiful! The Box Elder is my favorite as it has a nice contrast with the RWL.

Thanks Brett.

I have to agree with you on the box elder. For future versions I believe I will have to chose inlay materials with a lot of "life" to balance the steel handle. Also I?m wondering if the inlays maybe should be a little bigger. Btw, these are the first interframe knives I?ve made so the design can still be improved upon.

Alex,

Thanks a lot. I dont know why, but i had attached one more picture in my first post and for some reason it did not show. Never mind, I?ll just put it here

The knives are, by the way, not assembled with hammered and peened pins, which one might believe, since only the pivot screw is visible on the pictures. Instead it has 2 screws going through the back spacer into threaded, blind holes in the front side handle. Thus they are only visible on the back side of the handle.
