Talking Rodrigo Sfreddo - Brazilian Smith - Top pf the cream!

I tought you guys might want to take a look into some good knives made by Rodrigo Sfreddo, one of the best smiths we have in Brazil. Those are old knives but they reflect his attention to detail and the quality of his damascus well. I have been with him several times and I know he conducts several kinds of destructive tests, so you might also expect a very high quality heat treatment in all his blades.

Now.. enjoy...

Damascus bowie, brazilian ironwood handle.

52100 Mediterranean dirk in "gaucho" style

Damascus pieces. Please note the filework and the spanish notch on the top mediterranean dirk.

I think there might be a chance you guys meet him on the next year's blade show. But I am not sure yet if he might be going there. Stay tunned!

Jeff,

Thanks for posting Rodrigo's work. Very Nice.

I hope that he is able to make it to the Blade Show. He should do very well with the quality of work that he puts out.

I really like that folder on the bottom, am working on making something similar for myself. Beautiful work on all these though.

I love those Mediterraneans, especially the first one, with the sheath. Super clean.

Thak you for all the kind words gentleman. I will be working on a webpage for him in the next few months and I expect to get lots of pics from him in the next weeks. I have also forgot to mantion that he is the photographer himself (I might get the realy good ones for the photo of the week contest... how do I proceed?).

Mike:

Those clean mediterranean are just what he makes best. He forges those integral, putting two wood peces on the sides (usualy brazilian exotic woods). And he can forge one of those in two hours! If any of you would like to know how much of a good hammer he is you might contact Mr. Jerry Fisk who has met him personaly. I have handled several of his mediterraneans and all of them tooke my breath...

As soon as I get new pics with more incremented furnitures I will keep on posting.

By the way... he is the forum if you'd like to get in touch with him for details in his stuff.

Just to get a good understanding - could you give us an idea of his prices? Such as the big (top) knife in the bottom pic?

Thanks,

JD

Sorry.. I don't know about that.. but I might ask Rodrigo to stop by and give you some idea about pricing. I know they are old pics and all blades are already sold though... except for the folder that he lost (!!!!!!!!!). It fell from his backpack when he was riding a bike through the city. Some lucky one found himself a hell of a blade...
