drillpresser's

I've got an idea i'd like to have done,i'd like to take an old benchmade model 45 with hidden pivot's and have them drilled out to add adjustable pivot pin's!i've only got a cheap drill press and really dont trust myself doing it.

Everything about the 45 is perfect for flipping (imo),i'd just like to be able to adjust one as needed.

My question is,could anyone reccomend someone who might be interested in doing this for me?

Yeah.., I agree Bali, but I'm less than optimistic about who might want to do it (meaning who had done similar re-fits).

Of course Eric could do it.., but his back log has to be amazingly long. I've had blades with him for about 3+ years now.

Matt Cook comes to mind, but I'm not sure he'd be interested given other projects he's doing. Might as well check it out though. ~~~> -Pinoy Knife-.

If you purchase the replacement pivot screws, a good machine shop can easily mill out the old pins and enlarge the handle, and maybe the blade for it. BM did it when they released the 35-SPL's on BF. If you have one of those, you can use that as a working template.

Any one know how big the pivot holes in the blade are?

Putting adjustable pivots in the 45 handles is one thing but swapping blades is a whole other deal. If they don't have the same tang set up, we'd be screwed....

I was thinking about putting adjustable pivots in my 35.... I'd want to try something like that out before I did one for someone else....
